Singularity
This poem was born from the endless struggle of going inward while still trying to stay afloat. From doubting the road you are on, reaching for something you cannot yet name, and searching without knowing whether there is anything to be found.
Perhaps the search is the finding.
This one is for all of you still looking.
Fall into the deep,
where no one can catch you.
Shed a tear,
or a thousand,
until the body has no water left
for grieving.
Go inward,
to where the heart meets the mind,
and linger there.
Hold the small spark
that knows you
before you name yourself.
Tell her:
Alone you came.
Alone you shall go.
But never
without yourself.
Never entirely whole.
Never truly incomplete.
Remain there.
The place from which you began
is still beneath you,
breathing through the earth,
longing for air.
Touch it.
Not with the cautious fingers
you use upon surfaces,
but with the whole weight
of your knowing.
You already know
all that you need.
You carry more
than has yet been revealed.
Release.
Let the air buried within you
find its way out.
What you are touching
is your singularity:
the self beneath every self,
the one no wound could divide,
the one no departure
could take from you.
Fight it, if you must.
But only by meeting it
without turning away
will you become free.
“What you are touching is your singularity: the self beneath every self.”
Love that! In recovery they say that there’s the you that you know, the you that everyone else knows, and the you that nobody knows. The aim is to make all three of them the same person. From another perspective Jung said that as infinitely hard as it be to be like Christ [or any other religious idol], that it’s even harder to be who YOU are. This is one of the main themes of my (overly philosophical—guilty as charged) novel, Divine Madness - The Quantum Mechanics of the Soul.
It's very evident that you are a doctor your palms have no soul no Groove no rhythm you come off depressed it's a great read don't get me wrong but you need to learn how to connect people I can see now you are very disconnected I'm not saying you care about subscriptions cuz I don't if you want people to read what you have to say poetry is like a beautiful song that you close your eyes too and you just start swaying white plays poetry is like candles in the bathroom bubble bath in the tub and you get into the water and you can barely stand the Heat you just relax poetry is like making love feeling someone touch you all over your body and you just shiver remember all these and you will connect with you I love you my queen beautiful day
